The Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy is a dedicated partner with the Toronto Zoo in the fight against extinction.

We are facing a global crisis in wildlife survival. Nearly one million species are facing extinction, many within decades. Species are vanishing at roughly 100 times the natural rate. At the same time our society is losing its connection with nature, the very thing that sustains us and our planet.

This crisis – the astonishing and breakneck loss of wildlife and wild spaces, coupled with society’s disconnect with nature – means that we are leaving the future generations with a degraded and frightening future. We are facing an extraordinary crisis, one that requires action on an extraordinary scale.

The Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy works to secure financial resources for the crucial wildlife conservation work being done by the Toronto Zoo in preserving endangered species, breeding and reintroducing endangered animals into the wild, and creating opportunities to reconnect people with nature.
